The group was founded in 1976 with the main objective of working towards protecting and improving our local bridleways network and negotiating new off-road riding opportunities for the benefit of our members and other riders alike.
We are mainly concerned with the area around Haworth and Oxenhope but we liaise closely with neighbouring Bridleways Groups and local land owners, very much aware that our bridleways, off-road routes and quiet lanes must feed into and become a part of a much wider nationwide network of bridleways, not just for ourselves but for generations of horse riders to come.
The financial support for our work comes from the subscriptions and from fund raising. Social events are also an important part of our Group. We hold regular meetings every month, at The White Lion Pub in Haworth where we invite speakers to talk on topics of interest to all horse riders. We hold regular pleasure rides making use of all the wonderful bridleways we have available to us in our area. The groups has also branched out to provide competition events in dressage, showing and hunter trials as we believe it is also important to enjoy each other's company, whilst enjoying the outdoors and our horses as well.
Join us and help keep your local bridleways open, useable and safe.

GENERAL NEWS
Please keep reporting any issues you encounter whilst out riding that are under the interests of the bridleways group. Contact any committee member to report any news.
There was also an accident reported in the Kieghley News recently with a dog frightening a driving pony. The pony needed treatment and several cars and the trap were damaged. We need to try to find out who the unfortunate driver of the trap was so they can help us complete a BHS accident form. This will help with the BHS road safety statistics. Can anyone help? Please contact a committe member with details.
