What we stand for:
The group was founded in 1976 with the main objective of
working towards protecting and improving our local bridleways network and
negotiating new off-road riding opportunities for the benefit of our members
and other riders alike.
We are mainly concerned with the area around Haworth and Oxenhope but we liaise closely with neighbouring
Bridleways Groups and local land owners, very much aware that our bridleways,
off-road routes and quiet lanes must feed into and become a part of a much
wider nationwide network of bridleways, not just for ourselves but for
generations of horse riders to come.
The financial support for our work comes from the
membership subscriptions and from fund raising.
What we do:
Social events are also an important part of our Group and
we maintain a lively social networking website at HODBG
Facebook Social Group. We also hold monthly meetings, at The White Lion
Pub in Haworth where we invite speakers to talk on topics of interest to all
horse riders. We hold regular pleasure rides making use of all the wonderful
bridleways we have available to us in our area. The group has also branched
out to provide competition events in dressage, showing and hunter trials as
we believe it is also important to enjoy each other's company, whilst
enjoying the outdoors and our horses as well.
Join us and help keep
your local bridleways open, useable and safe.
